Built solo to fix a pharma QC lab's precision-balance tool that kept freezing mid-session. The old Python/Tkinter app called UI widgets from a background serial thread — a classic Tkinter thread-safety bug — so it froze during weighing, mis-tracked friability session counts (always showed "1 sample, complete"), and had a config dialog whose OK button could scroll off-screen. This is a ground-up rebuild in Rust (Tauri 2) + Svelte: serial I/O, parsing, and PDF generation all run off the UI thread by design, so it can't freeze the same way again. It does: Standard weighing with auto-record against configurable limits Friability testing with a real session lifecycle (active/complete states, accurate per-batch sample counts, resumable sessions) Reference-weight verification (place calibration weights → pass/fail vs. nominal) Session history browsing PDF + dot-matrix report printing, matching the paper trail labs already keep A built-in simulated-balance mode, so you can demo the whole thing without owning the actual instrument
