About RaccoonOS — Commercial Source Licence
Debian-based desktop and OS build project with a non-exclusive source licence.
RaccoonOS 6.0 is a Debian-based operating-system and desktop development project. The custom Python desktop brings together files, software management, settings, backup/recovery and a broad collection of local tools, with Debian image/package build recipes and operational documentation. It builds on Linux and Debian; it is not a newly written kernel. This offer is a NON-EXCLUSIVE COMMERCIAL SOURCE-CODE LICENCE, not an exclusive sale of the operating system, business or intellectual property. The seller retains ownership, local copies, and the right to use, modify, reuse, rebrand, publish, commercialize and license seller-owned material in other projects and to other buyers. By separate written agreement and payment, the buyer receives current project source, build/configuration recipes, documentation and existing verification tools, with a perpetual, royalty-free licence for that version of seller-owned code. The proposed scope allows the named buyer to modify, rebrand, deploy and commercialize integrated desktop/OS end products. Reselling the original source package as a competing kit requires separate permission; independently granted third-party source-distribution rights remain unaffected. The existing personal-use licence is not itself a commercial grant. Scope: 154,632 physical project source-file lines across 419 files, including comments and blank lines: 116,097 application/tooling, 1,801 styles/markup and 36,734 verification. There are 141,943 nonblank lines. Exact whole-file duplicate removal gives 154,610 lines. Dependencies, Linux/Debian source, generated protocol bindings, copied build/runtime trees, documentation, lockfiles and configuration are excluded. These are project-source counts, not a claim to own upstream software or a measure of value. On 21 October 2026, the existing Python suite passed: 1,185 tests run, three skipped. Two stale references to a removed application were corrected before the passing run. Screenshots are direct captures of the running Public desktop, Files and Settings in a virtual display with disposable sample files. They are not AI-generated product mockups and do not demonstrate a freshly booted public ISO or broad hardware acceptance. The $9,900 negotiable asking price is for commercial access to the existing desktop implementation, build/release tooling, documented workflows and verification work. It is a development-asset offer with room for negotiation, not a revenue-backed valuation, verified comparable sale or guarantee of future income. The licence is explicitly non-exclusive. Pre-revenue and pre-release: no customers or verified traffic are included, and a public release ISO is not published. A technical buyer must complete release engineering and relevant hardware, recovery, accessibility and security acceptance before product claims or distribution. Current-machine operation and automated tests are not universal hardware certification or an independent security audit. Debian, Linux, bundled applications, fonts, libraries and artwork retain their applicable licences and notices. Only rights actually held by the seller are offered. Personal accounts, user data, private signing keys, domains, trademarks and ongoing update services are excluded; buyer branding and its own signing/update infrastructure are expected. No ongoing maintenance, future updates or custom development is included unless separately agreed. International enquiries welcome. Direct PayPal Goods and Services payment can be agreed after the buyer and seller agree the licence, deliverables, acceptance and price in writing. SideProjectors does not process or hold payment. Source is delivered privately under the agreed transaction.
