Here's an idea for a startup that could become very large over a relatively short time. People have become addicted to email and now, seldom bother to write a letter. In many situations, however, a letter is more useful, more likely to be read, and will be more highly regarded by the recipient. The gap between email and a letter could be bridged by a startup that offered to convert an email to a letter, address it and mail it out. The user would simply fill out an online form, write his message, send it to the startup where the cut, paste and mailing would be done. The cost should be about $3.00 for a one page letter and perhaps a dollar per page afterwards. Attachments from the sender could be added for a dollar a page. The customer sends out a letter on quality paper, formed correctly, pleasing to the eye, and does it all from the comfort of his home using a user friendly email format. If he considers the cost of driving out and back from the Post Office, the additional time he spends, and buying stamps, paper and other supplies, your service would be almost free.
