About Strand

Private, encrypted messaging app for couples &families, no ads, no data mining.

Strand is a fully encrypted messaging app built for people who want their private conversations to actually stay private — couples, families, and close friend groups, not public group chats. Built from the ground up with AES-256 encryption, Strand includes voice and video calls, vanishing messages, biometric lock, screenshot blocking, and an offline message queue. It supports dedicated "Spaces" for couples and families with up to 100 members, nicknames, reactions, message editing, pinning, @mentions, and full call history — all the features people expect from modern messaging, minus the ad-driven data collection model. The app is fully built and tested end-to-end on physical Android devices. It's not yet on Google Play or the App Store — currently distributing via direct APK to early Founding Members while I fund the store listings. Premium roadmap in progress: sticker packs, an expanded Safehold storage space, Looking for: early users, feedback, potential co-founder/technical collaborator interest, or funding/acquisition conversations.

Next step: Immediate next steps for a buyer: launch on Google Play and the AppStore (currently distributing via direct APK to early users), finishthe sticker pack picker UI (assets already built), and layer inmonetization via RevenueCat or react-native-iap. Beyond that, the roadmap includes offline mesh networking (Bluetooth/WiFi Direct messaging without internet), a Couple Loyalty Notificationsystem with mutual dissolve lock, Strand for Business workspace-typespaces, and expanded space capacity for Family/Squad groups — allscoped but not yet built. The privacy/safety-first positioning alsohas real potential to expand into disaster-resilience or personalsafety use cases, worth exploring with the right team behind it.

Includes Firebase project and configuration, EAS/Expo build setup, LiveKit integration, and Cloudflare Worker token-generation service. Sticker pack assets (16 sets, ready but not yet integrated into a picker UI) also included. Buyer will need to set up their own Google Play Developer and Apple Developer accounts to publish under their name.

Reason for selling

I feel that the project requires skills that I do not necessarily have and would like to see someone else take over.
