CrowdPlace is a service that provides a beautiful, organized place to read and share content that matters to you. CrowdPlace was launched as the first topic-based social reader, social network, and structured data stream combined. For sale: The domain name (CrowdPlace.com) and the codebase (Java) Note: It runs on the Neo4j database. Knowledge of Neo4j and Java will be required to take over the site. Considering all offers. Background The CrowdPlace team realized early that there would be multiple streams of news, topics, and information from devices that would need to be organized. The noise of many data streams would become overwhelming. So, a new type of service would need to be created. This new service would need to be one was built from scratch and used the social design patterns and conventions similar to Facebook and Twitter; but, went beyond the massive "firehose of information" experience to allow for better filtering. For phase one the team essentially built a "Twitter with categories" and included over 200 news sources that can be followed along with other users.
