Next step: <p>PayPoint is a working product with a clean foundation. Here are </p><p>concrete paths a buyer could take:</p><p><br></p><p>SHORT-TERM (1–4 weeks):</p><p><br></p><p>1. Fix the known bugs</p><p> - Invoice portal redirect (needs FRONTEND_URL env var set correctly)</p><p> - Currency toggle (backend persistence)</p><p> - "Send Invoice" button (integrate Resend or SendGrid)</p><p><br></p><p>2. Add real email sending</p><p> Currently, invoice emails log to console. Integrating Resend </p><p> (free tier) or SendGrid takes 1–2 hours and unlocks the full </p><p> invoice workflow.</p><p><br></p><p>3. Test and document Pro features</p><p> Invoice customization, auto-chase, and Pro tier are built but </p><p> not fully tested. Testing and fixing these would unlock </p><p> monetization.</p><p><br></p><p>MEDIUM-TERM (1–3 months):</p><p><br></p><p>4. Reintroduce the paid tier ($9/month)</p><p> The subscription system is already built (Paystack integration </p><p> works). Set usage limits, re-add the Pro badge, and start </p><p> charging.</p><p><br></p><p>5. Niche down hard</p><p> Instead of "creators," focus on one specific group:</p><p> - Nigerian UGC creators (existing focus)</p><p> - TikTok Shop affiliates</p><p> - Instagram brand deal creators</p><p> This makes marketing 10x easier.</p><p><br></p><p>6. Content marketing</p><p> Write SEO articles like:</p><p> - "How to invoice a brand in Nigeria"</p><p> - "How much do UGC creators really make after tax"</p><p> - "PayPoint vs. Google Sheets for tracking brand deals"</p><p> This attracts high-intent users.</p><p><br></p><p>7. Partner with creator agencies</p><p> Nigerian influencer marketing agencies manage creators who </p><p> need this exact tool. Offer white-label or referral deals.</p><p><br></p><p>LONG-TERM (3–12 months):</p><p><br></p><p>8. Add analytics dashboard</p><p> Charts showing monthly income, expense breakdowns, top brands, </p><p> and tax trends. This is the #1 requested feature from beta users.</p><p><br></p><p>9. Mobile app</p><p> Build a React Native version. Most Nigerian creators work </p><p> primarily from phones.</p><p><br></p><p>10. Expand to other African markets</p><p> Ghana, Kenya, South Africa all have growing creator economies </p><p> with similar pain points. Paystack supports multiple countries.</p><p><br></p><p>11. AI features</p><p> - Auto-categorize expenses from receipts</p><p> - Predict monthly income</p><p> - Suggest tax savings</p><p> - Generate invoice descriptions from deal notes</p><p><br></p><p>12. Strategic sale to a creator platform</p><p> Once PayPoint has 100+ users, platforms like Paystack, </p><p> Flutterwave, or Selar might want to acquire it as a creator </p><p> finance add-on.</p><p><br></p><p>The product is technically complete it just needs distribution </p><p>and market focus. The right buyer with an audience, a specific </p><p>niche, or more time could easily take this from 12 users to 100 </p><p>and from $0 to $1,000/month in revenue.</p>

Reason for selling
I built PayPoint to solve a real problem I saw creators facing: juggling brand deals, invoices, and expenses across multiple tools with no clear view of their actual income. The product works it's deployed, functional, and has been used by 3 creators during its private beta. However, I haven't been able to achieve meaningful traction or product-market fit in the time I've invested. Marketing has been the biggest challenge, and rather than continue investing without results, I've decided to sell. My reasons for selling: 1. Market fit hasn't materialized I've run outreach to over 50 creators and gotten some initial interest, but not enough to build a sustainable business. The product solves a real problem but not an urgent enough one for most creators to switch from spreadsheets. 2. Time constraints I don't have the bandwidth to continue iterating, marketing, and supporting the product while working on my cybersecurity career. 3. Looking for the right owner PayPoint has a working codebase, a clean design system, and a niche positioning (Nigerian creator finance). I believe the right buyer someone with more time, a bigger audience, or a strategic angle could take it further. 4. Willing to be honest about limitations There are known bugs (listed in KNOWNISSUES.md) that the buyer will need to fix. I'm pricing the project accordingly and being fully transparent about what works and what doesn't. I'm looking for a buyer who wants either: A working foundation to build a creator finance tool on top of A portfolio-quality codebase to learn from or extend A launchpad into the African creator economy
