About SONARMY
The real-time network that connects you with people listening to the same music.
SONARMY is the real-time social layer for music — a platform that transforms solitary music streaming into live, shared experiences. Every time a listener posts what they’re playing, they instantly connect with others around the world listening to the same artist, album, or song. We don’t compete with Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube Music; we sit on top of them, turning their solitary listeners into engaged communities. The result is a network-effect platform where every new user makes the experience better for everyone else — and where the data generated (who is listening, where, when, and with whom) is worth more than any subscription fee. The platform is fully built and production-ready. Users join live chat rooms organized by artist, album, or song, with threaded replies, emoji reactions, heart likes, and typing indicators for real-time presence. They can follow other listeners, send connection requests that must be accepted before direct messaging, @mention friends, bookmark rooms, and receive instant notifications for every interaction. Every user has a profile with a photo, location, a music preference questionnaire, and an AI-generated “sonic personality” taste profile. Anyone can share their own original music via external links (YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify, Bandcamp), with verified artists showcased in a premium carousel. Users can write and rate reviews for any room, test their knowledge with category-based music trivia quizzes and climb a global leaderboard, and join verified-artist drop rooms with live countdowns and follower notifications. Safety is built in: users can block anyone, go incognito to hide their activity from non-connections, and all DMs are connection-gated and block-checked server-side. Every room includes an AI-powered Music Oracle that answers questions about the music in context. A custom animated SVG globe visualises global listening activity in real time. The entire experience is mobile-first, dark-themed, and ships from a single codebase to web, iOS, and Android — with safe-area insets, pull-to-refresh, and native-style navigation. For the user, it’s free forever. For the business, every feature is an engagement signal that compounds the network effect. SONARMY is built on React 18 with Vite, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui on the frontend, powered by the Base44 backend-as-a-service platform — which provides a schema-driven document database, serverless functions, real-time subscriptions, row-level security, authentication, and managed AI integrations out of the box. The backend includes 20 data entities, 21 serverless functions, durable workflows, and a production-ready multi-platform streaming integration layer with admin credential management for Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Tidal. Streaming readiness is complete: Spotify uses OAuth 2.0 with server-side token exchange and live now-playing sync; Apple Music uses ES256 JWT developer-token signing (via Web Crypto, zero npm dependencies) plus MusicKit JS user-token authorization and recently-played sync; YouTube Music and Tidal use OAuth 2.0 authorization-code exchange with server-side token storage and refresh. New entities power the social graph: Connection (request/accept/decline protocol) and Block (user blocking), while serverless functions — managesocial and senddirectmessage — enforce connection-gated, block-checked messaging server-side. AI is native: every room has an LLM-powered oracle, and the platform orchestrates GPT, Gemini, and Claude models. The entire stack runs on one codebase that publishes to web and native mobile — meaning a single team can maintain and scale the whole product. The commercial potential is significant: once the network reaches scale, the same real-time engagement data that powers the user experience becomes a B2B intelligence product for artists, labels, venues, and brands — a revenue model that doesn’t require charging a single user.
