CatchMyWords is a Chrome extension that turns your AI conversations into something you can actually use, everywhere you type.You have already worked things out with ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini - the decision, the explanation, the research. That knowledge is stranded in chat logs you will never scroll back through. CatchMyWords captures those conversations as you have them - no exports, no setup, nothing to remember to do - indexes them on your device, and puts them one keystroke away: press the hotkey in any text field, say what you need, and paste back the email, the context block for a fresh AI chat, the plain-English explanation, or the detail you half-remember from three weeks ago.Passive capture is the default and does all the work. Importing your old history is the secondary path, there when you want it: if you care about the conversations you had before installing, you can still bring in an export file from ChatGPT and have it indexed the same way. Nothing has to be imported for the product to work.It works anywhere you can type in the browser - Gmail, Notion, Slack, WhatsApp Web, your editor, or a new AI chat.Privacy is the core of the design, not a footnote. Capture happens in the browser and the index lives on your device; conversation content is never stored on our servers. Capture can be paused, individual sites excluded, a whole source removed, or the entire memory wiped in one click.How it is built: a Chrome MV3 extension on WXT and TypeScript, with SQLite-WASM and FTS5 full-text search over OPFS in an offscreen worker. Retrieval is local-first - branch-safe chunking, cached extractive summaries, keyword search with agreement and recency ranking, bounded query decomposition and a typo-rescue pass - measured by a deterministic recall harness rather than vibes. No embeddings, no server-side index. A marketing site runs on Cloudflare Workers.Status: in development. The retrieval core is built, merged and tested; the passive capture adapters and the generation panel are the next phases.Showcasing this for feedback and to find the people who want it - it is not for sale.
