Flou is an AI-powered personal finance web app where users track expenses, income, savings goals, and budgets by chatting in plain Spanish (e.g. "gasté 50 en uber"), automatically parsed by an LLM (Claude). Built for the Peruvian market — Peruvian Sol currency, local bank names (BCP, BBVA, Yape, Plin...), Spanish-first UX — but the chatbot-parsing architecture is not country-locked and generalizes to any Spanish-speaking market. Tech stack: Flask (Python) backend, React + Vite frontend, PostgreSQL (Railway), Claude (Anthropic API) for natural-language parsing, bcrypt auth, Culqi payment integration (Peru's Stripe-equivalent, wired but not activated). Features: multi-turn chatbot with photo receipt parsing, full transaction CRUD, savings goals with progress tracking, budget limits with contextual alerts, dashboard with monthly breakdowns, dark mode, push notification engagement loop, and a ready-to-activate subscription/payment flow. Honest disclosure: this project did not find product-market fit as-is — closed beta with 9 signups, low activation, no retained paying users. Selling as a working codebase + validated technical foundation, not a revenue business. Best suited for someone who wants to skip the build phase and focus on distribution, or repurpose the architecture for a different niche/market. Domain flou.pe (registered through April 2027) included.

Next step: - Activate the Culqi payment integration (already built, just needs a live account) and start charging from day one instead of gating features silently.- Do real customer discovery before more building: talk to target users about their actual expense-tracking pain points and willingness to pay, rather than relying on personal-network invites.- Localize beyond Peru: swap currency/bank-name config and translate the UI to relaunch in Mexico, Colombia, or any Spanish-speaking market — the chatbot-parsing architecture isn't Peru-specific.- Run a real, consistent marketing channel (the previous attempt at short-form video content was inconsistent) or pursue a B2B angle (e.g. selling to financial advisors/coaches as a white-label tool for their clients).- Build out the analytics/traffic tracking that was missing during the beta, to actually measure activation and retention this time.
