About Orrmaps - MMO in-game resource tracking
Orrmaps is a website for the game Guild Wars 2 (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/media/awards/, Time #1 video game of 2012, Gamespot PC Game of the Year, etc..) Users can plot resources on a Google map that uses the in-game map. Users can create maps, share them, and rate maps based on their accuracy. Maps are broken apart by server, and the maps for each server are combined to show a 'server map', depicting locations of the resources plotted by users with the 'best' map. The reason this site is still running is each week the locations of the resources in the game change randomly. Each week when these locations change, Orrmaps will update itself, mark maps as 'outdated', and make recently updated maps more apparent to the user. The code can also be easily modified to support ANY game that has a map and resources, which is 99% of all MMOs.
