Project Overview Automated stock and cryptocurrency portfolio tracker that runs daily and sends personalized email reports. The system tracks multiple markets, calculates price changes, and visualizes portfolio performance with charts. It is fully deployable on an AWS EC2 instance and requires no user interaction after setup. Features Multi-market support: Tracks US stocks, South African property investments, and cryptocurrencies. Simple portfolio input: Uses a structured Portfolio.txt file with fields: ticker, market, buyprice, quantity. Daily email report: Sends a detailed markdown email every weekday morning with portfolio updates. Visual performance charts: Portfolio allocation pie chart (with live USD/ZAR conversion) Top 3 gainers and losers by R-value Value-over-time line graph Daily profit and loss comparison in USD and ZAR Currency conversion: Uses live exchange rates to normalize values across all assets. Change detection: Highlights significant price movements (e.g., more than 10% from buy price). Easy deployment: Runs on AWS EC2 using cron for scheduled automation.
