Designed to help cafes automatically solve the issue of managing the laptoppers in their shop, to boost their revenues and reduce their awkward interactions with customers. We developed a few versions of this for over a year, and ran a pilot in Amsterdam. Detailed Description

Designed to help cafes automatically solve the issue of managing the laptoppers in their shop, to boost their revenues and reduce their awkward interactions with customers. We developed a few versions of this for over a year, and ran a pilot in Amsterdam. The cafes would put the 3D printed hardware on the cafe tables, and laptop customers can "check-in" (via scanning the QR) to start a work session. (See "architecture" image below) The lights on the device indicate whether the spot is reserved, 'in session', or available. Notifications help keep customers compliant with the cafe laptop policy. And when they are done they can check out (and pay if there are hourly fees). The cafe can see the status of all who are working in their cafe.
