Storytaime - Sell Project

 Storytaime is a unique story creation web app designed to make reading fun and engaging. It was an idea we first conceived in 2021 as a means of keeping kids interacting with reading through a digital interface. Whilst books are still very important, we saw an opportunity to use Tablets and Smartphones as a way to reach out and create a bridge with parents and young children.We left this as a low level of development until late 2022 when AI allowed us to take this forward and obtain a couple of clients. The integration of AI has taken this project in a completely new direction and completely different branding and marekting approach.The original plan was targeted towards schools from where we attracted interest and a couple of clients using a one-off annual payment option. This was very labour intensive as we were cold calling and reaching out to educational establishments and nurseries but the understanding and appreciation of the product took time to sell.This current app is pre-revenue at the moment and we have had around 3 sales on the original inception.The current software was completed last month It is targeted for 5-10 year olds and is designed to be a supervised experience with parents creating a useful bonding time using reading and technology.As we understood there would be other apps available, we set out our USP to be clear and this was the integration of audio as a means of interaction. Our experience in the first iteration taught us we had to have at least 2 points of interaction with the user and, rather than use imagery, we decided audio.The reasons for this are:1) The audio can be downloaded and stored on other devices2) It can be used time and again and they can build a bank of adventure stories which were created by the kids themselves – therefore guaranteed to keep them engaged.3) This offered high margins due to the unique elementStorytaime offer 2 levels of membership and a free try on the homepage. The basis is for the stories only with the following fields available to logged in users:The enhanced level offers the Audio creation and download.The costs of running this are minimal with the AI costing 0.002c per 750 words and the Audio priced at $9.99 for 65k character on premium (we have a premium voice such is the quality).What’s more, this has many more avenues of revenue such as image integration, personalised stories, printed books and even merchandise using API connections.Why are we selling?We have a few reasons why we are selling. Firstly, this project requires more time to grow than we can dedicate. We run another business and our skillset is in this area so don’t feel we can take this to where is can go.Secondly, it has far more potential with the advent of AI and the audio content so it deserves the attention of someone who can provide some time. With the tech in place, our early validation of a very rudimentary service has expanded significantly with a core USP in place.
