About Watchtower
Monitoring changes to your competition's website
Watchtower is a platform for monitoring changes to your competition's website and products. With a few clicks, you can start monitoring changes to site look and feel, content, and pricing. Using virtual displays and Selenium, Watchtower takes a unique "fingerprint" of what the user wants to track. It can detect A/B tests, multivariate tests, and other forms of customer segmentation. It spots price changes and other content changes. Users can review change history and high-res screenshots. This approach is much more robust than other nascent "visual diff" services. With Selenium, we are able to test across multiple browsers and devices. Our fingerprinting algorithm understands the DOM, so it has the semantic context to determine which changes are small and which changes are important. Watchtower can be distributed geographically to detect traffic segmentation by device and location. There are currently about 75 users, all of whom found the site organically via Google (we haven't put in any effort into marketing). If you are looking for a great idea with solid technology backing that can be built into a B2B business, this is it.
