Detailed Description

πŸ… Productivity web app that lets users focus on tasks and track their progress

Pomozzo is a platform where you can focus on your tasks and track your progress. It was recently launched in April 2021. It's based on the Pomodoro Technique, which was created by Francesco Cirillo and has been used by over 2 million people across the world.

πŸ“— But... What is the Pomodoro Technique?

How does it work? πŸ€”

The Pomodoro Technique basically consists of choosing a task and focusing on it for a period of 25 min (known as a "Pomodoro"), followed by a 5 min pause.

Why? πŸ’

By using this method, it is possible to know not only the quantity of activities that are done, but also the quality.

Who can use it? πŸ™‹πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

This way of optimizing time is usually aimed at people who tend to procrastinate and can be used by students and professionals.

πŸ‘₯ What can one do on Pomozzo?

  • - List and organize tasks by category
  • - Add tags, deadlines, and priorities to tasks
  • - Do customized Pomodoro cycles with an integrated timer
  • - Deal with unexpected tasks
  • - Track progress with real-time charts and insights (Premium)
  • - Receive weekly e-mail reports (Premium)

πŸ’» Technical details

Pomozzo was built with powerful and widely used technologies.

Server

  • - Made with Node.js, Express, and TypeScript
  • - 100% test coverage
  • - Hosted on a AWS Lightsail instance
  • - Uses a MySQL managed database (also on AWS)
  • - Uses AWS SES to send transactional e-mails and weekly e-mail reports
  • - Uses AWS S3 to store charts that are sent in the e-mail reports

Website

  • - Made with Next.js (React framework)
  • - Hosted by Vercel
  • - Translated: available in English (en-US) and Portuguese (pt-BR)

🧾 How much does it cost?

Costs

The costs to maintain Pomozzo are very predictable and straightforward.

AWS SES = Free (see pricing)

AWS S3 = Free (see pricing)

AWS Lightsail instance = $5.00

AWS Managed Database = $15.00

Total monthly cost = $20.00

Income

Pomozzo follows the β€œFreemium” monetization model. A registered user can access all the app's basic functionality for free but can pay a subscription to access Premium features.

The current Premium pricing is as follows:

Most countries

Regular price = USD 2.49

Special launch offer = USD 1.99

Brazil

Regular price = BRL 9.90

Special launch offer = BRL 6.90

All the bureaucratic part of the subscriptions is handled by Paddle, which is a revenue delivery platform for SaaS.

πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ’» Who am I?

I'm a Full Stack developer and Computer Science student. I like to give my best when creating something, and Pomozzo is something I'm proud to show the world. This is my second time selling one of my side-projects on IndieMaker (you can see the first project here).
