24IDChat - Showcase Project

Tired of handing out your personal phone number or email address just to have a quick, private conversation? 24ID Chat is a privacy-first, ephemeral Progressive Web App (PWA) built for developers, activists, freelancers, and anyone who values uncompromising digital privacy. Why 24ID Chat? Traditional messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, or Signal either demand your personal phone number or maintain permanent account metadata. 24ID Chat reimagines messaging around zero identity and strict ephemerality. Key Features: Zero Registration: No email, no phone number, no passwords. Tap one button to generate an anonymous Chat ID & private login token. End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): Cryptographic keys are generated directly on your device using Web Crypto API (ECDH P-256 key exchange + AES-256-GCM message encryption). Private keys never leave your browser's IndexedDB. 24-Hour Auto-Expiry Protocol: Accounts, chats, contacts, and media auto-delete after 24 hours. No traces, no logs, no cold data stored on servers. Encrypted Voice Notes & Media: Record voice notes with an inline waveform player and share files securely up to 10MB. Group Chats & Communities: Create private groups with secret question/answer gates or join public/passcode-protected community rooms. Mr. Nobody Support Bot: An automated, zero-knowledge support guide inside the app for instant FAQs and feedback reporting. Installable PWA: Install directly to your iOS or Android home screen without app store tracking or downloads. Self-Destruct & Delete for Everyone: Trigger custom self-destruct countdowns or wipe messages for both sides instantly. Who is it for? Developers & Tech Teams: Share API keys, credentials, or sensitive staging links without leaking them into permanent chat histories. Freelancers & Buyers: Coordinate single-deal transactions and gig discussions without giving away your personal phone number. Privacy Advocates & Whistleblowers: Have short-lived, encrypted discussions with absolute anonymity. Crypto & Web3 Communities: Form instant temporary project rooms without Telegram spam and doxxing risks.
