About Flirting – Location-Based Global Dating App
Dating app live in 5 Asian countries. iOS, Android and admin panel included.
Flirting is a location-based global dating app where users meet people within a distance they set themselves. It is live on iOS and Android in Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and South Korea. ■ The problem it solves Flirting started from the most common complaint about dating apps: "I like the profile, but they live too far away." Instead of the service deciding the recommendation radius, users set it with a slider and can change it anytime. Relationship goals are not split into just "serious" or "casual" either. Users pick from six levels, so expectations match from the start. ■ Key features Swipe matching: swipe cards to show interest; a mutual like creates a match Chat request: send a first message of up to 50 characters along with a like Distance-based recommendations: only people within the user's chosen radius Recommendations refresh four times a day (8:00, 12:00, 18:00, 21:00) "Shared interests" recommendations based on 24 interest tags See who liked you and who sent a chat request 1:1 real-time chat Profile completion score Identity verification: NICE PASS and phone OTP (South Korea only) AI-based automatic review of sign-up profiles ■ Business model Users buy the in-app currency "Hearts" in packs (KRW 8,800 to 199,000, roughly USD 6 to 140) and spend them per feature. Where Hearts are spent: extra recommendations / seeing who liked you / starting a chat 50% off the first purchase, plus a 7-day special offer for new members Gender-based pricing: free for women, paid for men Real purchases have been made, so the payment flow is validated. Revenue is still early stage, at under KRW 100,000 (about USD 70) per month. ■ Current metrics Total sign-ups: 3,063 Active users: 437 in the last 30 days (MAU) / 120 in the last 7 days / 11 daily Active users by country, last 28 days: Vietnam 257, Indonesia 71, South Korea 44, Japan 22 Average engagement time per active user: 9 min 44 sec User acquisition spend: about KRW 2.89 million (about USD 2,100) in total on Meta ads, across four campaigns Fixed operating cost: KRW 200,000 (about USD 145) per month for servers ■ Tech stack App: React Native 0.81 + Expo SDK 54 (iOS and Android) Server: Node.js + Express (REST API, AWS EC2, PM2) Database / infrastructure: Supabase (PostgreSQL, Realtime), AWS S3, AWS EC2 Push and analytics: Firebase (Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics) Admin web: React + Vite + Tailwind CSS (Vercel) Identity verification: NICE PASS, Twilio Verify, Supabase Auth (phone OTP) In-app purchases: react-native-iap (App Store, Google Play) AI: Claude API (automatic review of sign-up profiles) A single React Native codebase runs both iOS and Android. ■ What is included in the sale iOS app and Android app (source code + the published store listings) Admin web: user management, payment and Heart transaction history, statistics API server and database Original design files (Figma) Service overview deck, ad campaign data, and performance data by country ■ Current stage Product development, store launch, and initial user acquisition are complete. Retention improvement and monetization have not yet been seriously attempted. Matching, chat, in-app purchases, and the admin panel are all in place, so the app is also well suited to rebranding or pivoting into a different kind of social app after acquisition.
