About Old Findings
Found negatives, open questions. Help identify where and when.
Old Findings is a collaborative archive transforming orphaned film negatives into detective stories. Each published case contains scanned negatives with known facts, open questions (location, date, subject), and a reasoning trail of community contributions. Identify a street sign, recognize a building, spot a vehicle—every claim includes confidence levels and reasoning, not just votes. Cases progress visibly from open to solved, documenting how local historians, architecture experts, and OSINT investigators piece together forgotten photographs. Cross-border and crowdsourced, Old Findings reunites mysterious images with public memory before the people who remember these places are gone.
