Next step: CodebaseVital today is built for individual developers. The enterprise opportunity is huge: scale it to scan all of a company's repositories at once, integrate it into CI/CD pipelines so it runs automatically on every code push, and build a dashboard that shows leadership which packages are abandoned, stale, or using outdated versions, which teams are affected, and what it costs in maintenance time. Today's tools like SonarQube focus on code quality; Mend Renovate automates updates. But nobody systematically tracks the full dependency health landscape, abandoned packages, stale packages, outdated versions still in use that might cause security issues, across an entire company's codebase portfolio. That's the gap CodebaseVital fills. Implementation is straightforward: add multi-repo scanning (GitHub org-wide), connect to CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI), build a dashboard showing risk heatmaps and trends across all dependencies and versions, and integrate with Jira/Linear so teams get auto-assigned recovery tickets with upgrade or migrate recommendations. Price it at $10K–15K/year per company and tie ROI to reduced maintenance overhead and security risk. The market is ready, 14.6% of npm packages are abandoned, but the real problem is bigger: thousands of projects are stuck on old versions of active packages, creating cascading technical debt that compounds across dozens of codebases.

Reason for selling

I built CodebaseVital with a clear vision for what it could become. The web app and CLI tool were step 1 and 1.5 of that roadmap—solid foundations with real market potential. But executing the full vision requires sustained time, marketing, and ongoing development that I can't commit to right now given my other priorities. Rather than let this sit incomplete, I'd rather pass it to someone with the bandwidth and focus to build out what I originally envisioned. It has the pieces in place; it just needs someone who can take it all the way.
