Next step:
1. Switch on payment. This is the shortest path to revenue and the reason the platform is priced as an asset rather than a business. The paid product already exists and works end to end: a recruiter creates an assessment, emails a one-time link, the candidate completes a real fault without an account, and the recruiter gets a server-verified report. What is missing is only the billing layer — a checkout, a webhook, and a credit balance. Everything it would gate is built and tested.

2. Sell assessments to employers, not just courses to learners. Technical hiring for network and support roles still runs on CV screening and whiteboard questions. NETFORGE produces something no video course or offline simulator can: evidence of how a candidate troubleshoots — whether they reproduced the fault before changing anything, whether they diagnosed before configuring, whether they fixed only what was broken, and how long each step took. Per-assessment credits or a recruiter subscription are both natural pricing models, and the margin is high because there is no per-use vendor cost.

3. Grow the content without touching the engine. The simulation already supports considerably more than the 18 shipped labs use — stateful firewall policy, NAT, IKEv2 site-to-site VPN, OSPF, packet-tracer diagnostics. New scenarios are content, not engineering. The admin console also includes a template-based lab authoring tool that lets a non-developer create new host-level fault scenarios (wrong gateway, wrong mask, duplicate address, DNS, DHCP) with their own ticket, briefing, hints and scoring weights. Labs with new topologies are a developer task, but the marginal cost of each additional lab is low and each one adds SEO surface and retention.

4. Open a second and third track. The same engine and the same ticket-driven format extend naturally to a security track (the firewall and VPN simulation is already there), and to adjacent domains — Linux administration, Windows server, cloud networking. The architecture — a deterministic simulation plus server-side replay marking — is domain-agnostic; networking is simply the first curriculum built on it.

5. Sell to institutions. Colleges, bootcamps and accredited training providers buy seats, not subscriptions. The missing pieces are cohort management, a class dashboard and bulk invites — a well-defined build on top of an admin console that already reports per-user progress. Content is already mapped to CompTIA Network+ and Cisco CCNA objectives, which is the language procurement at those institutions speaks. White-labelling for a training brand is a further option.

6. Build the organic funnel. No marketing has been done and no content has been published. Every lab is a search query people already type — "why is my PC getting a 169.254 address", "why can't my PC ping the server in another VLAN", "OSPF stuck in EXSTART". Publishing a walkthrough per lab, with a free playable version of that lab at the end, is a direct and low-cost acquisition channel for exactly the audience that converts.

7. Expand geographically. The compliance layer was built for South African law (POPIA). Extending it to GDPR for European users is largely policy and retention configuration rather than re-engineering, since data export, account deletion, candidate consent and automatic retention purging are already implemented.

8. Cost structure supports aggressive pricing. There are no AI APIs, no per-seat licensed components and no usage-metered vendors. Hosting is Netlify plus Supabase. A buyer can price to win share without the unit economics working against them.
