Next Development Phase: <p>The single highest-leverage step is SAM.gov entity registration. It is free</p><p>and takes about ten business days. A personal API key allows 10 requests a</p><p>day, which is not enough for one ingest run; a registered one allows 1,000.</p><p>It also re-enables description fetching, so keyword matching runs on the full</p><p>notice text instead of titles alone — a large jump in match quality.</p><p><br></p><p>Then, in rough order of effort:</p><p><br></p><p>1. Widen NAICS coverage. Five codes are wired and all five are correct for</p><p> their trades, but relevant work may also post under 238910 (Site</p><p> Preparation) or 238990 (All Other Specialty Trade Contractors). Adding a</p><p> code is one line in src/lib/trades.ts.</p><p><br></p><p>2. Add trades. The mapping is data, not logic — concrete, masonry, glazing,</p><p> fencing and landscaping all fit the same model without touching the</p><p> matching engine.</p><p><br></p><p>3. Distribution, none of which has been tested: APEX Accelerators are</p><p> federally funded organisations that help small businesses into government</p><p> contracting for free and are a logical partner channel; trade associations</p><p> by specialty; and the 12-lesson course, which is the only public,</p><p> indexable surface and targets searches like "how to bid on federal</p><p> contracts". robots.txt and sitemap.xml are already in place for it.</p><p><br></p><p>4. Test the price. $29/month and $9.99 are reasoned, not validated.</p><p><br></p><p>5. Expand the source. Every external service sits behind an adapter with a</p><p> fake, so state and county procurement portals can be added as further</p><p> adapters without changing the matching engine or the jobs. That was</p><p> deliberately left out of scope, not left undone by accident.</p><p><br></p><p>The onboarding flow is already built to convert: it ends by showing real</p><p>matching contracts before asking for anything, and the 14-day Pro trial takes</p><p>no card. Those mechanisms exist; their conversion rate does not, because</p><p>nobody has been through them.</p>
