AI finds the perfect movie for your mood, time, and who you're watching with.
What Should I Watch Tonight? is a polished AI-powered movie recommendation web application designed to solve the extremely common problem of not knowing what to watch. Instead of browsing hundreds of movies, users simply describe what they're in the mood for in natural language — for example, "I want a really suspenseful movie under 2 hours that I can watch with my parents." The app uses Google Gemini to understand the request and return personalized recommendations. Features • Natural-language movie recommendations • Google Gemini AI integration • Solo, Date Night, Friends, Family, Parents and Kids modes • Surprise Me mode • Personalized session-based taste profile • Like / dislike / watched tracking • Recommendation refinement • Runtime and year filtering • Content information • Best-match recommendation • Responsive mobile-friendly UI • Google Analytics integration Technology Built with Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and Google Gemini, and deployed on Vercel. The project is fully functional and currently live at the project homepage. Current status This is being sold as a software/product asset rather than an established revenue-generating business. Users: 0 Revenue: ₹0 I'm selling because I enjoy building products but don't want to spend the months required to market and grow this one. The buyer can take the existing product and source code, rebrand it, add features, market it, monetize it, or use the underlying recommendation system for another idea. The project has been deliberately kept simple to deploy: there is no database, authentication system or complicated backend infrastructure. The buyer can create their own GitHub, Vercel, Gemini and Google Analytics accounts and deploy it independently. Included: source code, project files, recommendation engine, UI, AI integration, documentation and handoff assistance. Not included: my personal accounts, API keys, billing accounts or credentials. The buyer will use their own API keys and third-party accounts.
Next step: <p>The project already provides a working foundation for an AI-powered movie discovery platform. A buyer could take it further by adding user accounts and personalization, improving the recommendation system, introducing subscription or advertising-based monetization, adding watchlists and favorites, improving SEO and content discovery, and marketing it to movie enthusiasts. It could also be integrated into an existing movie, entertainment, or recommendation website as an additional feature.</p>

Reason for selling
I built this project as a side project to explore the idea of an AI-powered movie recommendation experience. The product is fully functional and deployed, but I don't have the time or interest to focus on marketing, user acquisition, and growing it into a business. I'm therefore looking to sell it to someone who can take the existing product further, add their own ideas, and handle the marketing and monetization.
