QR Menu — Offline-First Digital Restaurant Menu System QR Menu is an offline-first digital menu system for restaurants, combining a local in-restaurant menu with an online menu, an admin dashboard, table-specific QR codes, delivery/takeaway QR codes, and usage analytics. Offline & Local Menu The system is designed to run locally on Windows using Electron and can operate on the restaurant's local network. Customers can access the digital menu by scanning a QR code even when there is no internet connection. This makes the menu more reliable during internet outages and allows restaurants to maintain access to their digital menu without depending entirely on an external internet connection. Online Menu Restaurants can also provide an online version of their menu for customers outside the restaurant, making it suitable for delivery, takeaway, and customers who want to browse the menu remotely. Admin Dashboard The admin panel gives restaurant owners centralized control over their restaurant and menu. They can: Add and manage restaurants Edit restaurant information Set and modify opening hours Add, edit, and delete menu items Manage menu categories Update prices and menu content Manage QR codes and restaurant settings Table-Specific QR Codes Each restaurant table can have its own unique QR code. Customers simply scan the QR code at their table to access the restaurant's local digital menu through the restaurant's local network. Delivery & Takeaway QR Codes Separate QR codes can be used for online customers, delivery, and takeaway, allowing restaurants to share their menu outside the physical restaurant. Analytics The system includes analytics to help restaurant owners understand how their digital menu is being used, including QR scans, menu visits, table activity, and usage trends. Technical Information The desktop application is built for Windows using Electron, with a web-based interface built using HTML and CSS. Supabase is used for cloud/backend functionality and online data management, while the local architecture enables the offline restaurant experience. The combination of Electron and web technologies makes the system suitable for running as a dedicated Windows application while also supporting online functionality.
