About PostGate
Monetize WordPress content with one-time payments and subscriptions.
PostGate is a WordPress paywall plugin that helps creators, publishers, educators and independent experts sell access to their content directly with Stripe. The plugin provides granular control over what gets protected. Site owners can restrict an entire website, post types, categories, tags, individual posts and pages, or specific Gutenberg blocks. This makes it possible to monetize anything from a complete publication to a single premium section inside an otherwise public article. Visitors can unlock content through one-time payments or recurring subscriptions. Both purchasing options can be presented together on the same paywall. Core features One-time Stripe payments Recurring Stripe subscriptions Entire-site content protection Post type, category and taxonomy protection Individual post and page protection Gutenberg block-level protection Configurable content previews Login-only content WordPress role-based access Automatic access management after payment Order and subscription management Stripe-hosted Checkout Sandbox and live payment modes No WooCommerce requirement Why I built it Many WordPress publishers want to monetize valuable articles, reports, tutorials or resources but do not need a complete membership or eCommerce platform. Existing setups can require several plugins, extensive configuration and workflows that are disproportionate to the simple goal of selling access to content. I built PostGate to provide a more focused connection between WordPress content, users and Stripe payments. Business model PostGate is free to install from the official WordPress plugin directory. A 5% platform fee applies only when a transaction is successful, in addition to Stripe processing fees. What I’m looking for I’m currently looking for feedback from WordPress creators and publishers, particularly around content protection rules, paywall presentation and different monetization workflows.
