About obsession arena
Obsession is a full-stack esports tournament and real-time player interaction.
Obsession is a full-stack esports tournament management and gaming community platform designed to bridge the gap between casual gamers, competitive esports athletes, and tournament organizers. By automating match coordination, room distribution, panel judge verification, and community engagement, Obsession eliminates the administrative friction typical of online esports events. Key Problems Addressed Manual Credential Sharing: Tournament hosts often rely on messy Discord servers or WhatsApp groups to distribute private match IDs and passwords. Score & Result Fraud: Verifying match results manually leads to disputes, delayed payouts, and fake screenshot submissions. Fragmented Communities: Players lack a centralized hub where they can participate in matches, discuss strategies, and showcase their leaderboard standing in one place. Core Platform Features 1. Match Lobbies & Automated Credential Distribution Casual vs. Official Brackets: Supports both low-stakes casual scrims and high-tier official prize-pool tournaments. Automated Room Distribution: Securely reveals Room IDs and Passwords only to verified, registered players when the lobby timer reaches zero. Slot Tracking: Real-time capacity indicators (e.g., 48/100 slots filled) with instant lock-ins upon registration. 2. Panel Judge & Result Verification System Proof Submissions: Players upload post-match screenshots or match stats directly through the dashboard. Judge Verification Panel: Assigned tournament judges receive an administrative queue to review, verify, or flag disputed match outcomes before finalizing standings. Automated Leaderboards: Standings, kill counts, and prize distributions update automatically once judges verify match results. 3. Community & Real-Time Engagement Global & Match Chat: Integrated real-time messaging using websockets/database channels for match-specific chatter and squad finding. Activity & Announcement Feed: Organizer updates, rules updates, and highlighted gameplay moments are surfaced directly on the main feed. Player Profiles: Detailed stats including match history, total earnings, win-loss ratios, and verified badges. Backend & Database: Supabase providing PostgreSQL storage, authentication, Row-Level Security (RLS) for private room credentials, and real-time database subscriptions for instant chat and status updates. Hosting & Deployment: Netlify/Vercel for rapid deployment and fast global asset delivery. Typical User Workflow Discovery: A player logs in, browses the active lobbies on the homepage, and registers for a tournament. Pre-Match: As the countdown hits zero, the secure system unlocks the Room ID and Password directly on the player's dashboard. Execution & Submission: The match takes place in-game. The player takes a screenshot of the final leaderboard and uploads it to Obsession. Verification & Payout: A designated Panel Judge verifies the screenshot. The system updates the tournament leaderboard and awards stats or prize pool payouts automatically.
