GameBuddies.io - Showcase Project

I'm a solo dev from Germany and I've been building GameBuddies.io for about two years.It started because my friend group moved to different cities and our game nights died. Jackbox needs one person to buy it and screen share, Zoom plus browser tabs is chaos. So I built a platform where one person creates a room, shares a link, and everyone plays in their own browser with video chat already built in. Phones work too.THE ROOM MODELOne room, one code. You create it, share the link or QR code, and your group plays all 17 games from that same room without ever re-joining anything. Late joiners hop in mid-session, and if someone's connection drops they reconnect back into the running game. There's a public room browser if you want to play with strangers, plus host controls and in-room chat.THE GAMES• Bluffalo: bluffing trivia, write a fake answer and fool the room (Fibbage style)• Canvas Chaos: drawing with four modes, one of them has an imposter who doesn't know the prompt• Bad Actor: social deduction, one word per turn, find the liar• Last Brain Standing: trivia survival, worst answer loses a life• BlindSpot: everyone sees your word except you, in 3D around a table• Letter Rush: Scattergories with a spinning wheel• ThinkAlike: match words with your partner before your lives run out• Decoded: describe words with emojis• ClueScale: one word, one number, three rotating roles• Tier Battle: rank anything into tiers, watch friendships end• Soundbite: audio telephone where sounds mutate down the chain• Schooled: quiz where you draw answers on a chalkboard• Prime Suspect: card bluffing, works solo against bots• Hot Potato: 3D arena chase with a ticking potato, has a community level editor• Bingo Buddies: custom cards, your rules, live calls• Zoomies: Tron style light cycles with a roguelite perk draft between rounds• Golem Overdrive: 3D parkour racing where the course rerolls every restartTWITCH INTEGRATIONFour games (ClueScale, Last Brain Standing, Canvas Chaos, Bad Actor) have direct Twitch chat integration. The streamer enters their channel name in the lobby, no OAuth, no API keys, and viewers vote or guess by typing !1, !2 and so on in chat. Live vote graphs build up in real time. In ClueScale the Twitch chat even becomes a virtual player competing against the people in the room.Every integrated game also has a dedicated broadcast window for OBS: branded header, round and timer pills, a webcam strip for player cameras, and toggleable overlays that lock into a clean stream view. Chat goes from watching to playing in about 60 seconds of setup.PLATFORM FEATURES• Built-in WebRTC video chat in every game, no Discord or Zoom needed• TV Big Screen mode: the game runs on your TV, everyone joins as a controller by scanning a QR code with their phone• Runs as a Discord Activity, so you can play inside Discord too• 6 languages (English, German, Spanish, two flavors of Portuguese, Traditional Chinese), including the game content itself, not just menus• EU and US server regions with automatic latency routing• Installable as a PWA, Android app in testingPROGRESSION AND SOCIALEverything is server authoritative, guests earn progress too and can claim it if they sign up later.• XP and 10 levels with per-game reward tuning, win streak bonuses, first-win-of-the-day bonus and anti-farming caps• Achievements in every single game, localized• Daily challenges, daily login bonus with streaks• Crew streaks: playing repeatedly with the same friend group builds its own streak• Gabu Points currency and a cosmetics shop: avatar frames, flairs, card styles, game skins• Custom avatar builder, public profiles, game history, leaderboards, rematch button• Friends with realtime online status and invite-to-game from inside a running game• There's also Gabu Klicker, a full idle clicker game with a server-side anti-autoclicker engine, its own community wiki and a leaderboard, plus Confetto, an app for sending playable greeting cardsEverything is free. No account needed to play, no downloads.
