Hunch — Self-Operating Prediction Market - Showcase Project

Hunch is a complete, Polymarket-style prediction market that operates itself. Where every competitor needs a content team to create markets and an oracle process to settle them, Hunch manufactures its own tradable inventory from live public data and resolves it automatically with evidence stamped on every outcome. Four self-operating verticals run out of the box: • Crypto (BTC/ETH/SOL): 5-minute Up/Down sprints, daily closes, monthly boundaries and touch levels, priced off Coinbase/Kraken reference feeds sampled every 5 seconds • Weather (5 world cities): daily rain and temperature-high markets resolved from recorded Open-Meteo observations at each city's local midnight • FX: ECB reference-fix markets (EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY) • Sports: World Cup match winners plus a tournament winner board, live from ESPN's scoreboard Every automatic resolution sits behind a dispute window and carries an evidence note (the exact print, source and timestamp that decided it). The dev stack has 330+ markets already created and settled this way — content cost: zero. All feeds are keyless and free: $0/month in API costs. Under the hood is a real exchange: an off-chain central-limit order book with maker/taker matching, EIP-712-signed orders and withdrawals, replay protection, and a cash ledger that reconciles to the cent across balances, pre-trade checks and withdrawals. The front end behaves like a trading product: morphing live charts, order-book depth walls, a sprint window navigator, a portfolio marked to the live tape over websockets, real-time DMs, copy-trading, alerts, an admin console with anomaly detection, and an interactive 3-D world-temperature globe rendered by a hand-rolled canvas engine. Scale: 53k lines of TypeScript/Solidity (backend 21.7k, frontend 29.1k, contracts 2.2k), 79 backend unit tests, fuzz-tested Foundry contracts, multi-stage Docker images. One docker compose up brings up the entire exchange on a single VPS. Honest status: this is a pre-revenue, pre-launch technology sale — no users, no domain, no company included. The smart contracts are demo-grade and unaudited; the repo ships with the launch gates, threat model, ops runbook, regulatory scoping and a DUE-DILIGENCE.md that maps every known gap with closure estimates. A technical buyer can evaluate the whole system in 15 minutes with one command.
