DeskBuddy puts a small animated companion in your browser tabs. It walks along The page edge, climbs, naps, and reacts when you click it, then gets out of the way when you need to focus. WHAT'S BUILT (all working, not mockups): • Chrome MV3 extension (WXT + React). Companion renders in an isolated Shadow DOM layer so it never interferes with the sites you visit. • Custom sprite animation engine with 9 states (idle, walk, jump, click, emote, sleep, climb, fall, sit) and Shimeji-style physics: gravity, wall-climbing, falling, edge-walking. • 6 companions with hand-made sprite art, across 3 categories. • Ambient effects: rain, snow, sparkles, leaves, night mode. Optional audio, off by default. • Side panel control surface: pause, movement mode, position, size, reduced motion, per-site rules, global pause. • Next.js 15 marketing site + character dashboard (search, filter, preview, favorites), deployed on Vercel. • COMPLETE MONETISATION LAYER, built and ready to switch on: Google sign-in (Auth.js), Stripe Checkout for a one-time "Pro" unlock, signature-verified and an idempotent webhook and a server-side entitlement check. Premium sprite art is served only through an authenticated route — it is never bundled in the extension, so the paywall cannot be bypassed by unzipping it. STATUS: Pre-launch and pre-revenue. Not yet published to the Chrome Web Store. Stripe/Google/Postgres are integrated but not switched on — the buyer plugs in their own keys.

Next step: The next owner is inheriting a launch, not a rebuild. Concretely: SHIP IT (days, not weeks)• Publish to the Chrome Web Store — the listing copy, privacy policy, and permission justifications are already drafted in /docs/launch.• Flip one constant (CHROME_WEB_STORE_URL in site-config.ts) and every install button across the site switches from "coming soon" to a live Add-to-Chrome.• Point a custom domain at the existing Vercel deploy. TURN ON REVENUE (an afternoon)• Add your own Stripe, Google OAuth, and Postgres keys (all documented in .env.example), run one migration, and Pro is live. The checkout, webhook, entitlement model, and server-gated premium art route are already built and tested — no payment code to write.• Buy or commission sprite packs, drop them in premium-assets/, and set premium: true on the seed. The lock badges, the paywall, and the checkout pick them up automatically. OBVIOUS GROWTH LEVERS• Firefox + Edge: the extension is built with WXT, which targets all three from the same codebase. Near-zero extra work for 2 more stores.• Custom character upload as a Pro feature: the manifest system already accepts arbitrary sprite sheets, so users bringing their own Shimeji is a small build and an extremely strong differentiator.• The Shimeji / desktop-pet / anime-fandom audiences are large, underserved, and highly shareable — this product demos itself in a 10-second video.

I will provide the exact source and license for each sheet, and if any licence does not permit transfer to a buyer, I will say so plainly and adjust the price or swap the asset. I am not going to sell you a licensing problem.

Reason for selling

I built DeskBuddy to the point where the hard engineering is done. The physics engine, the Shadow DOM layer, the full Stripe + auth + paywall stack. What it needs next is a sprite-art budget and a sustained marketing push, and I have neither the time nor the art budget to do that justice right now. I'd rather it launch under someone who can than sit in my repo unlaunched. Nothing is broken here; it's just unshipped.
