I built Luna AI Assistant, a complete and production-ready ecosystem designed to turn Google Chrome into a powerful personal AI assistant. Instead of forcing users to switch tabs to ChatGPT or Gemini, Luna brings the AI directly into their browsing experience. Whether it's summarizing long articles, analyzing PDFs, generating quick email replies inside Gmail, or extracting transcripts and chapters from a YouTube video, Luna handles it all right from a clean sidebar, a popup, or a floating quick-action menu that appears when text is selected. I built this with a solid full-stack architecture. The extension handles the UI, while a dedicated backend securely manages user accounts, usage quotas, and all AI API communications. This means your sensitive API keys are completely shielded and safe. What you are getting (The Tech Stack): The Chrome Extension (Manifest V3): Built using clean, pure JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. No heavy or messy frameworks. It injects smooth content scripts and uses background service workers to ensure it runs lightning-fast without slowing down the browser. The Secure Backend: Powered by Node.js. It handles token authentication, secure password hashing, and manages the Free, Pro, and Team user plans. AI Multi-Model Engine: Fully integrated with Groq, Gemini, OpenAI, and DeepSeek. It includes an advanced "Group Chat" tool to compare responses from 4 different AI models side-by-side. SaaS-Ready Infrastructure: The extension tracks usage quotas based on the user's plan. The Stripe integration is already wired up for checkouts, webhooks, and the customer portal. Data Structure: The current version uses a local JSON storage system for easy initial testing, but the entire architecture was specifically engineered to easily scale up to PostgreSQL and Prisma for a full global SaaS launch. Why am I selling? I poured my heart into coding the technical foundation, features, and security of Luna. However, my main passion is pure software development.
