A malicious adversary may introduce additional nodes in the network. Provenance is critical for assessing the trustworthiness of the received data, diagnosing network failures, detecting early signs of attacks, etc. Provenance management for sensor networks introduces several challenging requirements, such as low energy and bandwidth consumption, efficient storage and secure transmission. We propose an efficient mechanism to securely transmit the data through the nodes. The secure provenance scheme with functionality to detect packet drop attacks staged by malicious data forwarding nodes and removing it from the network. Key distribution method is followed to establish a new path. This path will be secured and helpful in reducing delay and packet loss.
