About eNkumbi
Real life farming on your phone
1. A a profiteer leases land, bears the cost of planting/sowing labour. 2. The profiteer costs and marksup his/her invest for sell to the eFarm platform/ company. The eFarm assesses the investment for cost (input cost) and benefit (potential returns) on sell of harvest at maturity, the basic due diligence. 3. The eFarm pays out the profiteer and assumes rights to the harvest. The efarm then posts smaller lots of the investments at cost on its platform. 4. Members registered to the platform can then buy the lots at the prices indicated. When all the lots are sold, the eFarm offers a spread on buy/sell of the lots. 5. A member can then sell back his/her lots at the price offered. Or buy more lots. The pricing is based on the expected yield and time to harvest. So the price is expected to appreciate with time. At the point of harvest, the eFarm oversee the harvest, and sell of the produce. The earnings are then shared out among the lot holders based on their holdings. A member can sell their lots at any time. This project is best suited for the local Ugandan market were input costs are very low. The only needed investment for any co founder is the skills/resources to build the platform to enable that exchange. The availablity of micro investors in Uganda is endless. The idea is to create productive employment of both labour and capital by reducing the turn around time of capital./ By not tying up the funds of the profiteer s/he can immediately start up another project, 14 days from start of project instead of 4 months.
