Wysepool - Showcase Project

It’s not an exaggeration to say that most of us spend as much time at work, as we do with our families. We switch jobs, build professional relationships and learn new skills. In today’s data driven world, there’s a metric for everything but is there a metric that quantifies all the skills and experience you have gained over the years? Existing professional networks are a great way to stay connected with your colleagues but endorsements or recommendations don’t tell you how your skills are perceived or how you stack up relative to your peers. Wysepool is a network for software engineers that attempts to create a metric that quantifies how much your peers value your skills. You list the skills that matter to you and your peers anonymously rate you on those skills, just like you are rating them. An algorithm then collects those ratings and provides you with a private Wysepool Score. Knowing your score and how it compares to others will help you identify areas that your peers think you need to improve, highlight skills that you should promote and maybe even give you a metric that would help with negotiating a promotion or a salary.
