I want to state right off-the-bat that this project was only brought live yesterday, and that the website has not established an online presence whatsoever. This project is fresh out of development and debugging.


Currently, the site is guests-only. The site has admin authentication for catalog management, but user-authentication is coming soon.


== Intro ==


I started this project with the intent of developing an intuitive recipe collection system, leveraging AI and scraping mechanisms to extract recipes from URLs into a structured output for database storage. I've implemented bulk recipe upload as well, so you can add extract sitemaps & upload several hundred / thousands of recipe URLs at once. I developed a frontend to provide a TikTok-style browsing experience with all of the recipes collected.



== Interactive Recipe Feed ==


When you first access the site, you can optionally choose which #Tags (categories) interest you the most (American/Desert/Quick & Easy). This will be used to push that sort of content to the user when in the Explore tab.


The #Explore tab has a TikTok-style layout, which provides familiar feel to the user. This sort of interactive media interface typically yields long session durations and heightened user interaction. This project is in the beginning stages as of right now, but this brings major monetization opportunity, as having ads between posts are typically standard in this form of media interface.


The algorithm is so simple I don't even want to call it an "Algorithm". As users interact with recipes, or explicitly state they're interested in a category (#tags), it increases the chances of a recipe within that category being displayed. This is specifically for scrolling the Explore tab.

I decided to create a #Tags page, instead of a generic "Categories" page. This way recipes can be sorted by various criteria in a more on-brand way.


Each Sub-Category page ( #Tags -> American Food ), will prompt the user to enter Explore mode if on mobile. This is so they can optionally browse recipes in the TikTok style format.


The Discovery page is for searching, filtering, and sorting recipes from the entire catalog.


The following information is sorted & saved for each recipe:

Source URL, Recipe Image URL, Tags, Required Appliances, Prep Time, Cook Time, Serving Size, Estimated Cost, Nutrition Facts (Fat, Carbs, Fiber, Sugar, Sodium, Protein, Calories), and the step-by-step instructions.


The recipe source URL is accessible for every user
