About ShadowTalk

Private chatroom app with end-to-end encryption, no signup.

ShadowTalk is a fully encrypted, one-to-one web-based chatroom app with zero logins, zero tracking, and total privacy. Users create a private room, share a secret key with their peer, and start chatting — all messages are end-to-end encrypted in the browser. The server only relays encrypted payloads and never sees any user data. Built with React, Vite, and Node.js with WebSocket messaging and browser-native AES-GCM encryption. Fully deployed on Vercel (frontend) and Render (backend) — ready to hand off or reskin. Inspired by privacy enthusiasts This is ideal for devs, makers, or startups who want a privacy-first messaging app to build on, rebrand, or launch quickly.

Next step: A buyer could easily rebrand it, wrap it in a slick UI, and offer it as a secure alternative to mainstream messengers — perfect for journalists, teams, or anyone who values digital privacy. From here, you could build group chat, add message expiration, or launch it as a paid SaaS — or simply offer it as a self-hosted tool for privacy-conscious users and orgs. The hard part is done — now it’s just about where you want to take it.
