Provide enterprise drone services nationwide to help save resources and lives.
With the use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), aerial images are becoming a reality for more and more industries. Prices are also dramatically affordable (1.000 USD per day average) compared to what used to be filmed with a manned helicopter (7.400 USD per day average). Why Overscout There is a particular need for enterprises with nationwide activities who are exploring the benefits of UAS. I have been in calls with several large corporations in the US and UK (including renewable energy, emergency services, aerial measurements) to understand their requirements. It is an enormous logistical task to seek out professional UAS operators in each location. The challenges include: Understanding the regulatory requirements Locating potential UAS operators in the region of interest Interview them and ensure that they fulfill a minimum insurance coverage Checking a pilot’s qualifications such as certification and unmanned flight hours Repeat if multiple locations need a drone service There are directories of UAS operators out there, however, none of them has a disciplined vetting process in place and are not a suitable destination for a large corporation to conduct business with. Alternatively, you could browse through lists of certified pilots with the aviation authorities, but you cannot search by location and have no background information of the operation. It can be a logistical headache. A company currently trying to hire a UAS operator simply cannot be sure whether they are hiring a credible operator with sufficient skills and experience or just a hobbyist drone flyer. Because of the aforementioned market gaps, Overscout proposes to establish a central platform that knows their pilots first-hand and specifically targets commercial, government, and non-profit institutions. It aims to be a credible source to fulfill a mission, or even become the go-to destination for all the company’s UAS-related missions. Overscout will initially start in target markets where regulations for UAS are favourable: United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and France. Powerful Mission Control On the other side, a pilot can utilize Overscout’s network effect to leverage their expertise. Missions can be fulfilled in several interdisciplinary teams either consecutively or in parallel. Overscout is also in a stronger position for negotiations with large enterprises. Small operators don’t know how to sell to the federal government because they are the little minnow swimming with sharks. As you can envision, there are many, many more exciting applications coming up as industries are discovering the benefits of UAS. It is our mission to help them find a qualified UAS operator wherever needed. Let's build this platform together.
Someone who aspires to join the growing drone industry which is novel enough to be influenced by those involved. Overscout is a new platform and wants to grow with your help. I am looking for a business developer, a front-end developer, or both, who can reach out to enterprises and gather feedback from the industry to ensure that we build features the industry needs.
Being located in the strategic countries listed in the description is a benefit. If you have other skills that you think could benefit Overscout, please reach out.
