While existing literature focuses on single-space solutions using sensor networks and image processing, this project proposes a distributed parking management system with three slots equipped with IR sensors that relay status to the cloud, allowing users to monitor availability via a mobile app. Tested in various conditions, the prototype aims to enhance fuel efficiency by providing real-time information. Smart parking systems employ IoT, sensors, data analytics, and cloud computing to optimize urban parking, offering drivers quick spot detection, predictive availability, and streamlined traffic flow while enhancing user experience through mobile apps for real-time updates and cashless transactions. Despite benefits, challenges like infrastructure needs, privacy, and scalability require careful consideration in implementing these systems, which promise to improve urban mobility and sustainability.
