Why is Work by Speech called “the first program in the world that allows efficient work on a computer by speech without needing a keyboard and mouse”?
- Mainly, because it has the most efficient mouse control by speech. Best competing app usually requires a user to say 7 words to perform one mouse click. Work by Speech usually requires a user to say 3 words to perform one mouse click, but 50 most clicked areas in an app require only two words. Multiple executions can be used to click by saying even less words.
- Another very important feature is quiet speaking support. When a user speaks very quietly, speech recognition accuracy decreases. Work by Speech supports quiet speaking by allowing a user to change required speech recognition accuracy (default settings support quiet speaking very well).
But an eye tracker could be used to control mouse movements instead?
- Eye trackers cannot be used by users that wear eyeglasses or eye lenses (most people that work on a computer do). They also don’t work well when used by users who have long eyelashes.
