My idea for this side project was inspired by app.net, which originally launched this idea, but was forced to pivot into a larger market. My reason for selling is lack of time and knowledge to market the project. The demand is there, but I don't have the time or expertise to effectively advertise and market the product. Officially launched around September 2014; growth has been a result of a few small ad campaigns and things like HackerNews, Product Hunt, etc. Someone with marketing experience could easily get this to 500 paying customers, for a nice $4-$5K per month side business. Sale includes: - All assets, code, domain name, etc (everything). - Custom dashboard with key funnel metrics, revenue, upgrades, etc. - All infrastructure; external accounts including AWS, Stripe, Intercom, and Keen.io). - Revenue ranges per month based on subscriptions. Average is around $250 per month. - In addition, several active yearly subscriptions at $179 per year. - Largest client is Reddit.com (http://redditama.reddit.com) - Built in trial-period of 14 days that encourages users to upgrade. - Customer LTV = $35 - A few customers are on a legacy $3 per month plan, most are on $9 per month, several on $19 per month. Plan prices are easily altered. - 2.6K e-mail addresses (primary target has always been mobile developers). - Domain name was originally purchased for $6,000. - Support from myself (if needed) to make sure the sale transition goes smoothly. - Price is based on a few years of revenue, the domain name, existing traffic, existing customer database, and high quality code base (about 3 months of development to reproduce).
