About Surname Ranker
A free online tool that checks how surnames rank in the U.S. census
The U.S. Surname Ranking Tool is a free online tool that provides an easy interface to check how a surname ranks in the 2000 and 2010 censuses. The tool provides both the rank and the total number of bearers of the name in the United States that year. This will be useful for genealogy enthusiasts – and everybody else who wants to know if their surname is rare or common in the U.S.
