My first objective is to effectively perform and document an adult’s history. To ensure the professional growth and promotion and to get more knowledge and experience regarding the medical history of adults I will trace the program participation by the studied demographics. Additionally, I will read at least three current nursing journal articles about the adult history by the end of the February 2017.

The second objective is to improve my verbal communication skills to interact with the patients and their families more effectively. This will be done through learning from the literature regarding the communication skills. The nursing experience is closely associated with the patients’ safety and the nursing job outcomes. The novices and expert nurses have clearly set differences as the latter have the separate nurse-sensitive indicators and practical expertise. Hence, I set clear expectations regarding my clinical practice performance, namely, that my clinical experience may have some obstacles, but it will become rewarding within the two weeks.

The third objective is related to my clinical practice and aimed to demonstrate a generation ability regarding setting the problem lists, which will help in providing a diagnosis based on the patient’s physical examination. According to Harris, this objective presupposes a proper interpretation of tests and recognition of the appropriate laboratory test values among others. Therefore, I will be carrying tests at the hospital laboratory and writing the tests on a daily basis while compiling a full report at the end of the second week. For another thing, I will monitor the temperature in patients in fever and give them a proper medication. Then, I will check on the patient’s recovery time on a terminal basis and make a note when the patient becomes better.

The fourth personal clinical objective is to review a specific disease and, by the end of the first week, to read three scientific journal articles regarding an evolving of this disease. I find it essential to provide my preceptors and colleagues with a concise report with all the relevant information regarding the chosen disease, its causes, symptoms, and treatment, and submit my report to the preceptor’s review after a two-week period.

The fifth objective will include a research into different cultural perspectives and values of the different groups of people whom we treat. Until the end of January 2017, I will be studying five different cultures and ensure that I know the cultural behaviors that I will need to respect while interacting with the people of those cultures. The proper understanding of a culture is critical as it assists, in particular, in a better perception of the ways of the patients’ interpreting their health conditions. In addition, culture plays a vital role in shaping personal and group values, such as the helpful aspects of work and useful and useless approaches among others, which are essential for any healthcare professional. Moreover, a good understanding of the different cultural characteristics enables nurse practitioners to avoid biases and stereotypes that tend to lead to poor care delivery.

To conclude, I am sure that this Program will help me to set a stable basis for my personal clinical objectives and enable an easy achievement of them.
