Millennials are headed for a retirement savings crisis. The average millennial 401(k) account balance is only $25,500. Between living longer, rising healthcare costs, and social security forecasted to run out in 2035, millennials are nowhere near the $1.8M that is expected to be needed for retirement. There is a need for a platform that tracks a user’s retirement savings, while saving them hundreds of thousands of dollars they are losing in hidden fees.
Retire is a web-based platform for users to connect their existing 401(k) and retirement accounts. Retire will save users $162,125 on average by getting them to switch from high expense fee mutual funds to low expense fee funds. We then provide users a seamless way to track their contributions and save more, with a dashboard that aggregates multiple accounts and alerts when contributions are made or changes occur.
There are more than 130M people in the U.S. with a retirement account, accounting for $30T in assets and paying $213B in fees each year. Our vision is to help all these people pay less in fees so they save more for retirement.
