Web application to create and share briefs for creative/design projects
Volve is a web application for marketers, agencies and freelancers to create and share briefs online. This way they start working in the right direction from day 1. Golden circle Why: Volve’s mission is to help the marketing industry produce better creatives, faster. How: Clients, agencies and freelancers need to communicate more and better. What: Volve provides a digital platform that stimulates and structures collaboration so that clients, agencies and freelancers work like teammates in an agile environment. What pain points is Volve addressing? “I have a new project to work on but I have no idea what the client wants.” “We’ve been working on this project for months and we’re still going back and forth because the client is not happy with the result.” I delivered the project and it’s a complete failure. The client was expected something totally different.” “I have several deadlines this week but I’m not progressing fast enough to meet them all.” “I need to launch several campaigns but my agency is not progressing fast enough. The competition moves faster than us.” Roadmap & Vision In its current state Volve is a MVP and focuses on the first step of creative projects only: the creative brief. Often seen as a waste of time, creating a good brief eventually proves extremely useful to reduce risk on a project and deliver faster. Based on my own research - surveying 80 people working in agencies, marketing departments, or as freelancers in Australia - 73% of agencies believe that their clients don’t provide clear assignment briefings. 2 out of 3 creative briefs are made through email or over the phone, which results in poor requirement definitions, misunderstandings, and overall frustration. By no means Volve is a finished product, even on the brief scope. There has been iterations to offer a good user experience, but further improvements are possible and easy to implement. My vision for the product was to expand it progressively to become a collaborative platform for creative projects, where companies and their creative partners (agencies and freelancers) could create briefs, share assets (images, copy, videos, etc.), review artwork, etc. Monetization I joined a company just after releasing the MVP at the end of 2018 and haven't been finding time to promote the product and continue developing it. There has been a couple of articles in the press like this one (https://www.digitalartsonline.co.uk/news/creative-software/take-the-stress-out-of-client-briefs-with-new-app-volve/) but apart from that zero marketing was done and therefore there is almost no user yet. It is not monetized yet. But there is pretty much no cost (less than $100 / month) to run it and it works well. It doesn't require any maintenance. The product needs to be promoted and further improved and its scope expanded to be monetized. An easy way to do that would be to create a Team plan for example.
