AI lecture transcription, translation & study notes in RU/TR/EN
DersNot is a live web app (public beta) that turns long lecture recordings into study material. It was built first for Russian-speaking students in Turkey whose lectures are in Turkish, and works with any mix of Russian, Turkish and English. What it does • Transcription of 1–3 hour recordings with Whisper large-v3-turbo (audio split on silences), per-phrase timestamps and a synced audio player • Full-transcript translation RU/TR/EN by phrase, with resume after failures • On demand: AI summary, sections, key points, glossary of terms, interactive mind map, quiz and flashcards (Gemini) • Export: TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT, JSON • User accounts, free trial (2 hours of audio), referral bonus, admin analytics panel • Telegram support bot and Instagram account (@dersnot.app) Tech stack: Python, FastAPI, faster-whisper / Groq Whisper API, Gemini API, Contabo VPS, landing page on Netlify. Unit economics: about $0.08 of API cost per lecture hour (Groq + Gemini). Planned pricing 299–599 RUB/month gives roughly 55–65% gross margin. Stage: pre-revenue, beta testers onboarded, payments not yet connected, no custom domain yet. Included in the sale: full source code and website, Instagram account @dersnot.app, Telegram support bot, and 30 days of transfer and setup help. Beta user data is not included (privacy laws).
Next step: <p>Connect payments and launch the planned 299-599 RUB/month plans; buy a custom domain; add Arabic and Indonesian (already planned); expand from lectures to interviews, meetings and voice messages; ship a mobile app (app-store subscriptions); grow via student communities and Instagram.</p>
