Its browser workflow combines AI voiceovers, synchronized captions, background visuals, and music, reducing the need to assemble each element in a traditional video editor. Creators can customize narration, subtitle styles, and visuals, preview their work, and export MP4 videos for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels. Dedicated workflows support Reddit stories, script-to-video creation, and chat-style stories. Founded by independent developer XingYu Chen in January 2026, MakeShort is based in Hong Kong and has grown to a team of three without external funding.
